Indian Baby Names is private by design. We do not collect, store or transmit any personal information — not to us, and not to anyone else.
The app works fully offline and cannot reach the internet at all. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no third-party tracking software of any kind.
The small amount of data the app saves — your shortlisted names and your language choice — is stored only on your own device and never leaves it.

03Other companies involved
Every outside company this app relies on, what it does for the app, and what it can see.
No other company is involved at all. This app has no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and nothing that tracks you. Nothing about you is shared with anyone, because nothing is collected in the first place.
04Information we collect
None. We do not collect any personal information about you. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos or any other personal or device identifier, and we operate no servers that could receive your data.
05Information stored on your device
To make the app work, the following is saved locally on your device only. It never leaves your device and we cannot access it:
- Shortlisted names
- When you tap the heart on a name, a reference to it is saved on your device so you can find it again on the Saved screen.
- Language preference
- Your choice of English or Hindi is remembered on your device.
- Baby name data
- The names, meanings and related details are bundled inside the app itself. This data is not personal to you.
06The parent name combiner
The parent name combiner lets you type a father’s and/or mother’s name to generate suggestions. Those inputs are used only on your device, in memory, at the moment you request suggestions. They are not saved, not logged and not transmitted anywhere, and they are discarded as soon as you leave the feature.
07Device features the app uses
- Text-to-Speech
- When you tap pronounce, the app passes the selected name to your device’s built-in text-to-speech engine so it can be read aloud. That is handled by your operating system or text-to-speech provider under its own policy. The app does not record or store audio.
- Sharing
- The share option opens your device’s standard share sheet so you can send the name text through an app you choose. What happens to that text afterwards is governed by the app you selected. This app sends nothing itself.
08Permissions
The app does not request access to sensitive device features or data. It cannot reach the internet at all, and it does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.
09Children’s privacy
The app is intended for parents and adults choosing baby names, and is safe for family use. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It complies with applicable children’s privacy requirements — including the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) — by design, because no data is collected.
10Data security
Because your information stays on your device and is never sent to us or to any server, it is protected by your device’s own security, such as your screen lock and device encryption. We recommend keeping your device software up to date.
11Your rights and choices
All app data is stored locally on your device, so you remain in full control of it at all times. You can delete it by any of these methods:
- Un-save a name inside the app by tapping the heart again.
- Clear the app’s data from your device settings: Settings → Apps → Indian Baby Names → Storage → Clear data.
- Uninstall the app, which removes all locally stored app data.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or erase on your behalf. If you would still like written confirmation of that, contact us and we will provide it.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the updated policy here. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
