Spin the wheel
Put your options in, spin, and take the answer. The winner is drawn before the wheel moves, so the spin shows you a result rather than deciding one — and if you have asked your device for less motion, you get the result without the spin.
Result
6 options on the wheel.
What is on the wheel

How it works
The draw comes first, the spin second
Which is what makes the answer independent of whether the animation ran.
The obvious way to build a wheel is to spin it to a random angle and read off whatever ends up under the pointer. That makes the animation the source of the answer, and anything that interrupts it — a dropped frame, a tab moved to the background, a setting asking for less movement — changes the result or loses it.
This one draws the winner first, from the browser’s cryptographic random source, then aims the wheel at what it drew. The spin is a presentation of an answer that already exists. If you have asked your device for reduced motion, you get the answer without the spin rather than a tool that does not work.

Longer answers about picking at random
How the draw is kept fair, and what a picker is actually used for.
- A random name picker that works offline
A random name picker for Android that runs with no connection and no account. How the draw actually works, and why the weights you set are exact.
- A name picker for the classroom
Pick students fairly without anyone claiming favouritism. A classroom name picker for Android that works with no internet and remembers your class list.
- Spinning a wheel with no internet
Every part of Spin Wheel works with no connection — building wheels, spinning, templates, saved lists and history. Why that matters and what still needs data.
- Spinning from the home screen
A home screen widget that spins a wheel in one tap, without opening the app. How to add it, what it can do, and why it changes how often you use a picker.
The app
What the app does that this page does not
One wheel, this page only. The app keeps them.
What is above is a single wheel that lasts as long as the tab does. Spin Wheel is the same draw with everything a page cannot hold:
- Save as many wheels as you like and open one again tomorrow.
- Spin from a home screen widget, without opening anything.
- Start from one of the ready-made wheels instead of typing a list.
- Paste a whole register at once, then shuffle, sort or strip the duplicates.
- Give an option a bigger share and have the draw honour it exactly.
- Remove each winner as it comes up, for a running order or a knockout.
- Keep the history of what has been picked, and back every wheel up to a file.
- Flip a coin, roll a die or take a plain yes or no, when a wheel is more than the question needs.
