Lux Helpers

Cleaners, plumbers, electricians and more across Luxembourg. Browse it offline.

A directory of local services in Luxembourg. You browse it by category, narrow it to a language you can talk in, and make contact yourself. The whole directory travels inside the app, so opening a category, searching it and reading a listing work with no connection at all — and tapping Call opens your own dialler with the number filled in, because the app cannot place a call for you and nothing you arrange with a provider passes through us.

Key features

What you actually get

Everything below is in the app today. Nothing here is a roadmap item.

  • A category per kind of job

Home cleaning, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, gardening, childcare, tutoring, computer repair and more — the jobs that come up around a home, each with a place of its own rather than one long list to scroll.

  • Filter down to one language

Luxembourg runs on several languages at once, and a tradesperson you cannot explain the problem to is no use. A listing carries the languages it covers, and one tap narrows the whole directory to a single one.

  • The directory is on your phone

It travels inside the app rather than being fetched from a server, so opening a category, searching it and reading a listing make no network request at all. It works in a basement, in a lift or on a plane, and it costs you no data.

  • Search across everything at once

One box searches names, what a provider does, the category it sits in and the languages it covers together, so you can start from the problem rather than from the right heading for it.

  • It fills in the dialler and stops

Call opens your own dialler with the number already in it and leaves the last press to you. The app does not ask Android for permission to make calls, so it could not place one on your behalf even if it tried. WhatsApp opens a conversation in WhatsApp.

  • Compare before you open anything

A card has room for the same few facts wherever the listing gives them — experience, an hourly rate, the languages covered, the working hours — and the list sorts by experience, by price or by name, so a shortlist does not mean opening five listings.

  • Keep the ones worth keeping

Bookmark a listing and it is there next time. The app also keeps a short trail of the ones you looked at recently, both on your phone alone, and you can clear that trail whenever you like.

  • Nothing is routed through us

You contact the provider, you agree the work and you pay them directly. There is no booking step, no commission and nothing added to the price, and we receive no record of what was said.

  • No account, and nothing to sign up for

There is no login, no profile and no email address to hand over. Nothing you do in the app is attached to a name, because there is no name for it to be attached to.

  • Ask to be listed, from inside the app

If you work in Luxembourg, the app drafts the email for you — to add a listing, change one or take one down. It fills in the details we need, nothing is sent until you send it, and a listing costs nothing.

Who it's for

Is this for you?

  • Something has broken and you do not have a number

Open the category, sort the list the way you want to read it, and call. There is no sign-up standing between you and the dialler.

  • You would rather explain the problem in your own language

Narrow the directory to one language in a tap. The languages on offer are read out of the listings themselves, so the filter follows the directory rather than a fixed list somebody typed once.

  • You are new here and have nobody to ask

The categories cover the jobs a home throws at you, and every card lays its facts out in the same order, so you can compare rather than guess.

  • You are underground, abroad on roaming, or simply out of signal

The directory is stored in the app, so a car park, a lift or a train tunnel changes nothing about browsing or searching it.

Price

What it costs

Free. Every feature, with no subscription, paywall or in-app purchase — and no commission or booking fee on anything you arrange, because the arrangement is not ours. Advertising is what funds it.
